Come Close Space ist ein barockes, benutzbares Videomöbel. „Ein Raum zum Nah kommen“ oder ein „naher Raum“.
Die Skulptur lädt den Betrachter ein, so nah wie möglich zwischen den Videobildern zu verweilen und offenbart das
Paradox zwischen Bildvorstellungskraft, der Grenze der Bild-oberfläche und dem realen Raum. Vier Videoepisoden
thematisieren den visuellen Unterschied zwischen Mann und Frau, der Berührung, der Intimität und der
Schwierigkeit der Wahrnehmung multipler Videoquellen.

In Come Close Space werden vier Video-Episoden von zwei Schauspielern gespielt. Diese Videos präsentiere sich in
einem goldbraunem Samtsofa, einer skulptural barocken Video-Installation mit zwei Video Projektionen und sechs
Monitoren. Das Sofa ist in der Mitte durch eine doppelte Projektionsfläche in eine männliche und eine weibliche Seite
geteilt. Auf jeder Seite laufen synchron die gleichen Szenen – lediglich präsentiert von einem anderen Geschlecht.
Jeder Charakter verbleibt auf seiner Seite.

Traurigerweise versuchen die Schauspieler vieles, um sich gegenseitig anzunähern. Sie möchten sich berühren,
aber sie verbleiben im Bild gefangen. Eine tragische Liebesgeschichte.

Come Close Space is a baroque video sculpture. “A space to come close with” or “a close space”.

The sculpture invites people to be as near as possible in between the video images and shows the paradox
between visual imagination, the frontier of an image and the real space.

Four video episodes are presenting differences between man and woman, about touch, about intimacy and
the difficult reception of multiple video sources. In Come Close Space four Video Episodes are played by two actors.
These videos are presented in a big golden velvet sofa, a sculptural and barock video installation with two video
projections and six monitors. In the middle the sofa is divided by a double projection screen into a male and
a female side. On each side is showing the same scenes synchronized. They are just presented by a different gender.
Each character stays on his side.

Sadly the actors are trying everything to approach towards each other. They want to connect but they cannot
overcome the second dimension of the screens. Their life in the installation remains only visual.
So on the other hand my installation is also a tragic love story.
